Excerpt: ...being duly sworn, saith, that he is the Rector of the Church or congregation in communion with the Protestant Episcopal Church in th e State of New York, worshipping in the School House of School District Number Three (3), in the Town of Canton, in the County of St. Lawrence, and State of New York. That this deponent did publicly read to the said congregation the preceding notice, in the time of Morning Service, on two Sundays next previous to the second day of June, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eif/ht, (which was the time named for the meeting mentioned in such notice, ) to wit, on Sunday, the seventeenth, day of May, and on Sunday, the twenty-fourth day of May, in the year one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight. And this deponent further saith, that he also posted a copy of the said notice, in a conspicuous place on the outside door, near the main entrance of the said School House, being the usual place of worship of the said Church or congregation.
