TO THIS

NEW AND ENLARGED EDITION.

AT the moment the copy-right of the former impression of these religious exercises ceased, some unprincipled Booksellers took an advantage, and printed a spurious mutilated copy, which has induced the former Editor to bring forward a New Edition, with considerable additions from the Author's manuscripts, as also the character of his writings, from the pen of the Rev. Dr. Watkins.

These are now, for the first time, interspersed at the end of each prayer, a short discourse on subjects of everlasting importance, with a hymn attached, as also other pieces never before published. The whole forming in a small space a complete Treasury of Divine Truths, composed in pointed and forcible language;

A

conducive to instruct and enlighten the
mind; so that under the influence of the
Holy Spirit, cannot fail of reaching the

heart.

As it is more than probable the Editor
will never appear again in these pages in
a future Enlarged edition, he finally
launches this small vessel, richly fraught
with heavenly treasure, and intreats most
fervently the blessing of God upon the
cargo, and that generations yet unborn,
may receive the spiritual blessings, the
work is calculated to produce: he suppli-
cates at the throne of grace for the read-
ers and himself, that after finishing our
appointed time on earth, we may join the
worthy Author, with admiring angels
and adoring saints, to celebrate the glory
of God the Father; who first loved us;
of the Mediator; who obeyed and died for
us; and the Holy Spirit; who set us
apart, and sealed us to eternal life, and
eventually brought us home to heaven.
