for thine infinite mercy's sake in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

CONCLUDING PRAYER.

ALMIGHTY God, who hast given us grace at this time with one accord to make our common supplications unto thee, and hast promised by thy beloved Son, that where two or three are gathered together in his name, thou wilt grant their requests; fulfil now, O Lord, the desires and petitions of thy servants, as may be most expedient for them, granting us in this world knowledge of thy truth, and in the

world to come life everlasting. Amen.

THE Lord bless us, and keep us; may he be gracious unto us, and give us peace, now and for evermore. Amen.

Or this.

NOW unto him who is able to keep us from falling, and to present us faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, through Jesus Christ, for ever and ever. Amen.

nourish thee, and shall not
suffer the righteous to fall
for ever.

And then, instead of the
Psalms for the Day of the
Month, shall be said the
following Psalms.

PSALM 6.

O LORD, rebuke me not in thine indignation; neither chasten me in thy heavy displeasure.

Have mercy upon me, O Lord, for I am weak; O Lord, heal me, for my

bones tremble.

My soul also is sore troubled; but Lord, how long wilt thou punish me? Turn thee, O Lord, and deliver my soul; O save me for thy mercies' sake. Depart from me, all ye who work vanity; for the Lord hath heard the voice of my weeping. The Lord hath heard my petition; the will receive my prayer.

PSALM 42.

Lord

AS the hart panteth after the water brooks, so longeth my soul after thee, O God.

My soul is athirst for God, yea, even for the living God; when shall I come to appear before the presence of God?

Why art thou so full of heaviness, O my soul; and why art thou so disquieted within me;

Put thy trust in God; for I will yet give him

thanks for the help of his countenance.

The Lord hath granted his loving kindness in the day time; and in the night season did I sing unto him, and made my prayer unto the God of my life.

I will say unto the God of my strength, Why hast thou forgotten me? why go I thus heavily, while the enemy oppresseth me?

As with a sword in my bones, mine enemies reproach me; while they say daily unto me, Where is now thy God?

Why art thou so cast down, O my soul; and why art thou so disquieted within me ?

O put thy trust in God; for I will yet thank him, who is the help of my countenance, and my God.

PSALM 80.

HEAR, O thou Shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; shine forth, thou that sittest upon the Cherubim.

Turn us again, O God, show the light of thy countenance, and we shall be whole.

O Lord God of hosts, how long wilt thou be an

gry with thy people who prayeth?

Thou feedest them with the bread of tears, and givest them plenteousness of tears to drink.

Turn us again, thou God of hosts, show the light of thy countenance, and we shall be whole.

Thou hast brought a vine out of Egypt; thou hast cast out the heathen, and planted it.

Thou madest room for it; and when it had taken root, it filled the land.

The hills were covered with the shadow of it, and the boughs thereof were like the goodly cedar

trees.

She stretched out her branches unto the sea, and her boughs unto the river.

Why hast thou then broken down her hedge, that all those who go by pluck off her grapes?

The wild boar out of the wood doth root it up, and the wild beast of the field devour it.

Turn thee again, thou God of hosts, look down from heaven; behold, and visit this vine;

And the place of the vineyard that thy right

Then may follow an anthem or a Voluntary on the Organ; and then the Minister shall read the FIRST LESSON, which may be either of the following portions from the Old Testament. Isaiah lviii. Hosea. xiv. Joel ii, And at the end of the Lesson he shall say, Here endeth the First Lesson. Then shall be said, or sung, the following portion of the 103d Psalm,

PSALM 103.

THE Lord is full of compassion and mercy, long suffering, and of great goodness.

He will not alway be chiding; neither keepeth he his anger for ever.

He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our wickednesses.

For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward those who fear him.

As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

Yea, like as a father pitieth his own children; even so the Lord pitieth those who fear him.

For he knoweth frame; he remembereth that we are but dust.

The days of man are but as grass; he flourisheth as a flower of the field.

For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.

But the merciful goodness of the Lord endureth for ever and ever upon those who fear him, and his righteousness upon children's children;

Even upon such as keep his covenants, and think upon his commandments to do them.

Then shall the Minister read the SECOND LESSON, which may be either of the following portions from the New Testament: Matt. vi., to 19. Mark ii. 15 to 21. And at the end of the Les

son he shall say, Here endeth the Second Les
