“ Unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given : and the government
shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it and to estabslish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even
for ever. The zeal of the Lord of Hosts will perform this.” Isa. ix. 6, 7. " I bring near my righteousness;" saith the Lord, “it shall not be far oft,
and my salvation shall not tarry: and I will place salvation in Zion for Israel my glory.” Isa. xlvi. 13.
THE FIRST AND THE LAST.
HEAR, O Israel ; the Lord our God is one Lord. We know
that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one. To us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him. For there is one God, and one Mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus ; who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. (See Mark xii. 29; 1 Cor. viii. 4–6; and 1 Tim. ii. 5, 6.)
“ The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to show unto his servants things that must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.”
