The representatives of most of these diverse occupations are before you. They have been engaged in the same pursuits, side by side, with one heart and one mind. The golden chain of love has been thrown around them; and they are met here to-day, a happy, happy, united band, to brighten still more its shining links. "Blest, for ever blest, the sacred tie that binds In union sweet according minds!" Again has this joyous occasion called us home, to exchange our hearty greetings beneath the paternal roof; let us rejoice, whilst we thank our heavenly Father that he has permitted us once more to gather together. Let us not forget our sisters, whom circumstances have deprived of the pleasure of meeting with us to-day, let us not forget those true-hearted ones, who, though God has taken them out of our sight, in robes of celestial brightness, may still be hovering near us;-let us not forget their love, let us heed their dying admonitions. May God, our Father, grant us a happy new year; and when our work is done, and our pilgrimage ended, be it very soon or long years hence, may we be prepared to join that blessed company who surround his throne, and enter upon the reward of those who are faithful found.
