Or who is he among my creditors, To whom I have fold you? Behold, for your iniquities are ye fold; And for your tranfgreffions is your mother difmiffed. 2 Wherefore came I, and there was no man ? Called I, and none answered? 3 Is then my hand fo greatly fhortened, that I cannot redeem? And have I no power to deliver? Behold, at my rebuke I make dry the fea; I make the rivers a defert: Their fifh is dried up, because there is no water: And dieth away for thirst. I cloath the heavens with blackness; 4 THE Lord JEHOVAH hath given me the tongue of the learned; That I might know how to fpeak a seasonable word to the weary. He wakeneth, morning by morning, He wakeneth mine car, to hearken with the attention of a learner. 5 The Lord JEHOVAH hath opened mine ear; And I was not rebellious; Neither did I withdraw myself backward. 6 I gave my back to the fmiters, And my cheeks to them, that plucked off the hair: R My My face I hid not from shame and spitting. 7 For the Lord JEHOVAH is my helper; Therefore I am not afhamed. Therefore have I fet my face as a flint; And I know, that I fhall not be confounded. 8 He that juftificth me is near at hand : Who is he that will contend with me? let us ftand forth together: Who is mine adverfary? let him come on to the conteft. 9 Behold, the Lord JEHOVAH is my advocate: Who is he that fhall condemn me? 10 Lo! all of them fhall wax old as a garment; Who is there among you, that feareth JE. Let him hearken unto the voice of his fervant: This Ye fhall lie down in forrow. СНАР. CHAP. LI. HEARKEN unto me, ye that purfue righte oufnefs, Ye that feek JEHOVAH: Look unto the rock, from whence ye were hewen; And to the hollow of the cave whence ye were digged. 2 Look unto Abraham your father; And unto Sarah, who bore you : For I called him, being a single person, 4 And he fhall make her wildernefs like Eden: And her defert like the garden of JEHOVAH :Joy and gladnefs fhall be found in her; Thanksgiving and the voice of melody.
