(f) He hath remember, ed his covenant forever ; the word which he commanded, to a thousand generations.(8) JE. HOVAH is merciful and gracious; slow to an. ger, and plenteous in mercy. He will not al. ways chide, neither will he keep his anger forever. He hath not dealt with us after our sins, nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For, as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his miercy towards them that fear him. As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. Like as a father pitieth his chiidren, so JEHOVAH pitieth them that fear him. For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.(b) For Je. HOVAH is good ; his mercy is everlasting, and his truth endureth to all generations.(i) Jeho. VAH is long suffering, and of great mercy ; for. giving iniquity and transgression. (;) For his anger endureth but a moment ; in his favor is life: weeping máy endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning:(k) As for man, his days are as grass : as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth. For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no nyore. But the mercy of JEHOVAH is from everlasting to everlasting, woon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's chil.

Have we not all one father ? Hath not one God created us ?(r) Is be the God of the Jews only? Is be not also of the Gentiles? - Yes, of the Gentiles also : seeing it is one God who shall justify the circumcision by faith, and the uncir. cumcision through faith.(s) For there is no respect of persons with God.(t) Of a truth, I perceive that God is no respecter of persons ; but, in every nation, him that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.(u)

As I live, sạith Adonai JEHOVAH : Behold, all souls are mine : as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine.(v.) Fury is not in me.(W) For I will not contend forever, neither will I be always wroth ; for the spirit should fail before me, & the souls which I have made.(x) For I am JEHOVAH, I change not ; therefore, ye sons of Jacob are not con. sumed.(y) I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love.(z)

. CHAP. II. ' An Address to God, as our Father, Friend, Cre

ator, and Redeemer.

O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, a doubtless thou art our Father, though Abraham be ignorant of us, & Israel acknowledge us not : Thou, O Jehovah, art our Father, our Redeem. er ; thy name is from everlasting. b Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory, and honor, and power; for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure, they are and were created. c 'Thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands. d But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. e But now, O Jehovah, thou art our Father; we are the clay, and thou our potter ; and we all are the work of thy hand. Be not wroth very sore, O Jehovah ; neither remember iniquity forever: behold, see, we beseech thee, we are all thy people.f Let the sighing of the prisoner come before thee : According to the greatness of thy power, preserve thou those that are appointed to die. & So we thy people, and sheep of thy pasture, will give thee thanks forever : we will shew forth thy praise to all generations, b
