souls, not to forfeit the blessings of this second covenant, or turn the very mercy of God into an aggravation of your sin. Remember that if you neglect this great salvation, "there, remaineth no more sacrifice for sins," no new Redeemer to be offered. Even infinite mercy is exhausted; nothing more could be done that hath not been done; and there is nothing before you " but a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation which shall devour the adversaries." Labor, then, I pray you, to secure an interest in this great Mediator. Pray that you may be strengthened with might by the Spirit of God in the inner man: pray that you may have Christ dwelling in your heart by faith: pray that you may not only know but feel the efficacy of his redeeming love. And may he this morning, as it were, come down again to seek and to save the lost! May he tell you to be of good cheer, for that he can make you whole; and may he once more reveal to you the almighty Father, who waiteth to be gracious, who, while we are yet a great way off, hath compassion upon us,

and himself comes forward to encourage our return, and infold the repentant prodigal in the arms of everlasting love!

And you, my brethren, who are already converted to God, already "saved by hope," redouble your exertions and activity in proportion as you draw near the end. Hold fast the profession of your faith without wavering; for the night is far spent, the day is at hand. Come to the table of your Lord, and there, with the sacred symbols in your hands, renew your vows, renew your spiritual strength. And may every penitent and faithful servant of Christ this morning find peace and comfort to his soul. May he manifest himself to us in the breaking of bread, and fulfil us with his grace and heavenly benediction. And, finally, may many of us be enabled to unite in the thanksgiving of David, "I thought on my ways, and turned my feet unto thy testimonies; I made haste, and delayed not to keep thy commandments." Yes, heavenly Father, we have turned our feet to thy testimonies; but in that blessed return thy grace

prevented us. We made haste and delayed not; but that holy impatience thou didst thyself inspire. Oh, then, complete the work thou hast begun. As thou hast been the Author, be also the Finisher of our faith. Keep us as the apple of an eye; stablish us that our footsteps slip not; and lead us in the way everlasting.

R. PERRING, PRINTER, LEEDS.
