people to go to church to hear about the love of Christ, and pray to God to bless His word. How pleasant it is to think that there are so

many churches scattered over the country, and how nice it is to see people flocking to them from all parts on Sundays! But still they are

not anything like so full as they might be. Try and see if you cannot do something to fill them. Do not lose any chance of enlarging Christ's kingdom.

CHAPTER VIII.

THE KINGDOM OF GLORY.

BUT will Christ never reign with outward glory on the earth? Will His kingdom always be only a spiritual kingdom? No, I think not. There will come a time when Christ will visibly reign on the earth. You will find this spoken of in Rev. xx. 4: "And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had

received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years."

The earth is Christ's kingdom even now, but it is like a kingdom in rebellion. His faithful subjects are very few, compared with

those who fight under the banner of that great rebel leader, Satan. But then "the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea." There shall no longer be thousands and thousands who know Him not; but "all shall know Me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord; for I will forgive their iniquities, and I will remember their sin no more." Satan will be cast down; his power will be taken from him, and he will no longer about as "a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour." The curse, too, which God pronounced upon the earth when Adam fell, will be removed; the beasts will no longer be fierce and wild, but gentle and harmless, as they were when God first made them. This blessed time is very often spoken of in the Bible, and I mean to give you some of the passages:
