they were the most costly things that their land produced; and they may well teach us a lesson. Have we nothing that we can offer to Jesus? Oh, yes! let us first give Him our hearts, and then we shall find plenty of other things that we can give Him too. But perhaps you will say, Jesus is in heaven, how can I give Him anything? Look at Matt. xxv. 34, and you will see. "Then shall the King say unto them on His right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink I was a stranger, and ye took me in: naked, and ye clothed me : I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me."

Put on Thy strength! the nations shake!
And let the world adoring see

Triumphs of mercy wrought by Thee!

Say to the heathen from Thy throne,
"I am Jehovah, God alone!"
Thy voice their idols shall confound,
And cast their altars to the ground.

When he arose, he took the young Child and His mother by night, and departed into the land of Egypt : and was there until the death of Herod that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord, by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son. Then Herod, when he
