Of this series there are now published, The Golden Treasury of Songs and Lyrics, by F. T. PALGRAVE, and The Children's Garland from the best Poets, by COVENTRY PATMORE; the former having met with a sale of more than 12,000 copies and the latter with a sale of nearly 4,000. The Book of Praise from the best English Hymn Writers, selected and arranged by ROUNDELL PALMER, in which great care has been taken to give the original text of each Hymn, and the Authorship of each has been carefully traced: from the great sale which it has met with, the Publishers believe it will be found to contain nearly all that is excellent in English Hymnology. The Fairy Book, containing the best popular Fairy Stories, selected and rendered anew by the Author of "John Halifax," is just ready.

In addition to the above Volumes, it is intended to publish from time to time The Golden Treasury Series of the best English Classics. These reprints will be carefully collated with the early editions, the text of the latest edition published during the lifetime of the author will be generally held as the best authority, and each Volume will contain illustrative notes more or less copious according to the requirements of the case. Bunyan's Pilgrim's Progress and Bacon's Essays are now ready, and will be shortly followed by others. A list of the Volumes already published or preparing will be found on the following pages.
