XII. THE HOLY SUPPER. N this mountain shall JEHOVAH of Hosts make unto all IN people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined. And He will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations. He will swallow up death in victory; and the LORD JEHOVIH Will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall He take away from off all the earth for JEHOVAH hath spoken it. And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our | GOD; This is JEHOVAH; we have waited for Him ; BEHOLD, I stand at the door, and knock; if any man. hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me. I will go unto the altar of | GOD: Unto GOD the gladness of my joy. If thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath aught against thee, leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. Search me, O GOD, and | know my heart: And see if there be any wicked way in | me: A NEW Commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another. As I have loved you, that ye also love one another. I will wash mine | hands in | innocence : So will I compass thine | altar, | O JEHOVAH : That I may publish with the voice of thanks giving: I AM the Good Shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine; and I lay down my life for the sheep. Thou preparest a | table before me, I AM the bread of life: he that cometh unto Me shall never hunger, and he that believeth on Me shall never thirst. What shall I | render to JEHOVAH, For all his benefits | toward | me? I will take the cup of salvation, I AM the living bread which came down from heaven; if any one eat of this bread, he shall live forever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. Unto Him that loved us, And washed us from our | sins in | his own blood, And hath made us kings and priests unto | GOD · and his | To Him be glory and dominion for | ever and ever: Amen. XIII. IN THE INCARNATION OF THE LORD. the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with GOD, and the Word was GOD: and the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us. Thou, O JEHOVAH, art our Father, | our Redeemer; AND there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night: and, lo, the angel of the LORD came upon them, and the glory of the LORD shone round about them; and they were sore afraid. Arise, shine, for thy | light is | come, And the glory of JEHOVAH is | risen up on thee. AND the angel said unto them, Fear not for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. How beautiful up on the mountains Are the feet of him that | bringeth good | tidings: That pro claimeth | peace : That bringeth good | tidings of good. : FOR unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is CHRIST the LORD and this shall be a sign unto you; ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And the government shall be up on his shoulder, And his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, the AND suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising GoD, and saying: Glory to GOD in the highest, On earth peace, among men good | will. I WILL declare the decree JEHOVAH hath said unto me: Thou art my son; this day have I begotten thee. Here may be sung Selection 10, page 6, or some other suitable Selection. XIV. PENITENCE. MY people, what have I done unto thee, and wherein have I wearied thee? Answer me. For I brought thee up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed thee out of the house of bondage. THOU calledst in trouble, and I delivered thee; I answered thee in the secret place of thunder: I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. Whither shall I go from thy | Spirit? Or whither shall I | flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, | Thou art | there : If I make my bed in | hell, be hold, Thou art | there. O THAT thou hadst hearkened to my commandments : then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea. If Thou, O JAH, shouldst | mark iniquities, O LORD, who shall stand? WHAT more could have been done to my vineyard that I have not done in it? Wherefore when I looked that it should bring forth grapes, brought it forth wild grapes? Return, we beseech Thee, O GOD of hosts: Look down from heaven, and be hold, and | visit this | vine, O ISRAEL, thou hast destroyed thyself; thou hast fallen by thine iniquity: but in Me is thine help. Have mercy upon me, O | GOD, According to thy | loving-kindness; According to the multitude of thy | tender | mercies, O ISRAEL, I have blotted out as a thick cloud thy transgressions, and as a cloud thy sins: return unto Me, for I have redeemed thee. So will we not go | back from | Thee; Quicken us, and we will call up on thy | name. Turn us again, O JEHOVAH | GOD of hosts : And cause thy face to shine, and we shall be saved O ISRAEL: return unto JEHOVAH thy God.
