[Psalm iv. 4.]

8. Stand in awe, and sin not; Commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still.

Offer the sacrifices of righteousness;
And put your trust in the Lord.
There be many that say, Who will
show us any good?

Lord, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us.

Thou hast put gladness in my heart, More than in the time that their corn and their wine increased.

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep;

For thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.

[Psalm cxxv. 1.]

9. They that trust in the Lord shall be as Mount Zion,

Which cannot be removed, but abideth
forever.,

As the mountains are round about
Jerusalem,

So the Lord is round about his people
from henceforth, even forever.
Do good, O Lord, unto those that be
good,

And to them that are upright in their t hearts.

As for such as turn aside unto their crooked ways,

The Lord shall lead them forth with the workers of iniquity:

But peace shall be upon Israel.

For length of days, and long life,
And peace, shall they add to thee.
Let not mercy and truth forsake thee :
Bind them about thy neck;

Write them upon the table of thine heart:

So shalt thou find favor and good understanding

In the sight of God and man.

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart,

And lean not unto thine own understanding.

In all thy ways acknowledge Him,
And he shall direct thy paths.
Be not wise in thine own eyes:
Fear the Lord, and depart from evil.

4. Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father,

And attend to know understanding,
For I give you good doctrine,

standing?

Man knoweth not the price thereof; Neither is it found in the land of the living.

The depth saith, It is not in me,
And the sea saith, It is not with me.
It cannot be gotten for gold,
Neither shall silver be weighed for the
price thereof,

For the price of wisdom is above rubies.

Whence then cometh wisdom?

And where is the place of understanding,

Seeing it is hid from the eyes of all living,

And kept close from the fowls of the air?

Destruction and death say,

We have heard the fame thereof with our ears.

12. GOD understandeth the way thereof,

And he knoweth the place thereof. For he looketh to the ends of the earth,

And seeth under the whole heaven.
When he made a decree for the rain,
And a way for the lightning of the

Then did he see it, and declare it;
He prepared it, yea, and searched it

And unto man he said,

Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom;

And to depart from evil is understanding.
