PART SECOND.

7. The Lord is gracious, and full of
compassion,

Slow to anger, and of great mercy.
The Lord is good to all,

And his tender mercies are over all
his works.

All thy works shall praise thee, O
Lord,

And thy saints shall bless thee.

And let the wicked be no more.
Bless thou the Lord, O my soul.
Praise ye the Lord.

And thy dominion endureth throughout all generations.

8. The Lord upholdeth all that fall, And raiseth up all those that be bowed down.

The eyes of all wait upon thee,

It is He that hath made us, and not we ourselves;

We are his people, and the sheep of
his pasture.

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving,
And into his courts with praise:
Be thankful unto him, and bless his

name.

12. The Lord hath prepared his

throne in the heavens,

And his kingdom ruleth over all.
Bless the Lord, ye his angels, that ex-
cel in strength,

That do his commandments, heark-
ening unto the voice of his word.
Bless ye the Lord, all ye his hosts,
Ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.
Bless the Lord, all his works, in all
places of his dominion:
Bless the Lord, O my soul.

the poor, Let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.

For the wicked boasteth of his heart's desire,

And blesseth the covetous, whom the Lord abhorreth.

The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God:

God is not in all his thoughts.

4. But as for me, my feet were almost gone;

My steps had well-nigh slipped.
For I was envious at the foolish,
When I saw the prosperity of the
wicked.

For there are no bands in their death;
But their strength is firm.

They are not in trouble as other men, Neither are they plagued like other

men.

Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain,

Violence covereth them as a garment. Their eyes stand out with fatness;

They have more than heart could wish. They are corrupt, and speak wickedly

Concerning oppression; they speak loftily.

They set their mouth against the heavens,

And their tongue walketh through the earth.

And they say, How doth God know? And is there knowledge in the Most High?

Though the Lord be high,

Yet hath he respect unto the lowly :
But the proud he knoweth afar off.
