Chrift, as Affeffors, in judging Devils and wicked Men 1 Cor. vi. 2. 3. Do ye not know that the 'faints fhall judge the world?-know ye not that 'we fhall judge angels?' Pfal. xlix. 14. The upright fhall have dominion over them in the mor'ning. And cxlix. 6. 7. 8. 9. 'Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a twoedged fword in their hand; to execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people; to bind their kings with chains, ' and their nobles with fetters of iron; to execute upon them the judgment written this honour have all his faints.'

It will be the Lot of the Wicked in the Judgment, to be openly difowned and condemned by Jefus Chrift. And that will be done, by Sentence pronounced and published with his Mouth, from the Throne: Matth. vii. 23. And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.' Chap. xxv. 41. That Sentence will be, Depart from me, ye curfed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels, Matth. xxv. 41. The Grounds on which they will be condemned, are, their Sins and Ungodliness in their Hearts, Lips, and Lives: Rom. ii. 16. In the day when God fhall judge' the fecrets of men by Jefus Chrift, according to my gofpel.' Jude 14. 15. Behold, the Lord cometh, with ten thousands of his faints, to ex'ecute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them, of all their ungodly " deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard fpeeches, which ungodly finners have spoken against him.' The Evidence on which their condemnation fhall proceed, will be,

clear Evidence, and full Conviction of their own Confciences: Rom. ii. 15. Which fhew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience alfo bearing witnefs, and their thoughts the mean while accufing, or else excufing one another. verf. 16. Jude 14. 15. above cited.

The particular Place and Time of the general Judgment are not known to Men: Luke xvii. 37. And they answered and faid unto him. Where, 'Lord? And he faid unto them, Wherefoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.' Theff. v. 1. 2. But of the times ' and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto your For yourfelves know per'fectly, that the day of the Lord fo cometh as a thief in the night. The Time of it is kept fecret, that Men may watch, and be always ready: Matth. xxiv. 42. Watch therefore, for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.' verf. 44. Therefore be ye alfo ready for in fuch an hour " as ye think not, the Son of man cometh.' Immediately after the Judgment, follows the full Execution of the Sentences, and the End of the World by the general Conflagration Matth. xxv. ult. And these fhall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life e⚫ternal.' I Cor. xv. 24. 25. Then cometh the 6 end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule, and all authority, and power. For he muft reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. Compared with 2 Pet. iii. 10. The day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens fhall pass away with a great noise, and the elements

* fhall melt with fervent heat; the earth alfo, and the works that are therein, fhall be burnt up.' But God will make new Heavens and a new Earth: 2 Pet. iii. 13. Nevertheless we, according to his promife, look for new heavens and a new earth," wherein dwelleth_righteoufnefs.' The Party that shall go off firft from the Place of the Judgment, is, the Damned, the Saints feeing all their Enemies turn their Backs, Matth. xxv. ult. forecited. The fearful Sentence will be put in Execution against them, in their being caft out from the favourable Prefence of God, and the glorious Fellowship of Chrift, his Saints and Angels, into Hell: Rev. xx. ult. And whofoever was not ⚫ found written in the book of life, was caft into the lake of fire.' Compared with Matth. xxv. 41. Then fhall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye curfed, into everlafting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.' And Luke xvi. 26. And befides all this between 6. us and you there is a great gulf fixed: fo that they which would pass from hence to you, cannot; neither can they pafs to us, that would come from thence.' And they will be punished there with unspeakable Torments both of Body and Soul: 2 Theff. i. 7. 8. 9. The Lord Jefus fhall be revealed from heaven, with his mighty angels, in flaming fire, taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gofpel of our Lord Jefus Chrift: who shall be pu nifhed with everlasting deftruction from the prefence of the Lord, and from the glory of his 'power. These their Torments will never have an End: Mark ix. 43. 44. If thy hand offend. thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter

<into life maimed, than having two hands, to go into hell, into the fire that never fhall be quenched: where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.' Rev. xx. 10. And the devil that deceived them, was caft into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beaft and the falfe prophet are; and fhall be tormented day and night, for ever and ever. And in that their miferable State, for Eternity, they will have the Society of the Devil and his Angels, Matth. xxv. 41. forecited.

The completing Benefit of Chrift's Purchase Believers fhall receive after the Judgment, is, that they shall be made perfectly bleffed, in full enjoying of God to all Eternity. They will go away with Chrift, after the Judgment, into Heaven, the Seat of the Bleffed: 1 Thess. iv. 17. • Then we which are alive and remain, fhall be 'caught up together with them in the clouds, to · meet the Lord in the air and fo fhall we e< ver be with the Lord.' Matth. xxv. ult. The righteous fhall go away into life eternal.' Pfal. xlv. 15. With gladness and rejoicing fhall they be brought they fhall enter into the king's pa'lace.' And they will be there, in a State of perfect Bleffednefs, or compleat Happiness, both in Soul and Body: Matth. xiii. 43. Then' fhall the righteous fhine forth as the fun, in the kingdom of their Father.' They will be made perfectly bleffed, or compleatly happy, in their being for ever freed from all Sin and Misery, Want and Imperfection, and filled to the Brim with all their Souls can defire: Eph. v. 25. 26. 27. 'Chrift loved the church, and gave himself for it: that he might fanctify and cleanfe it with the washing

of water by the word, that he might prefent it 6 to himself a glorious church, not having fpot or wrinkle, or any fuch thing; but that it fhould be holy, and without blemish.' Rev. xxi. 4. And God fhall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there fhall be no more death, neither. forrow, nor crying, neither fhall there be any more pain for the former things are paffed a 'way.' verf. 7. He that overcometh, fhall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he fhall be my fon.' Chap. vii. 16. 17. They fhall hunger no more, neither thirst any more, neither fhall the fun light on them, nor any heat. For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne, fhall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters and God fhall wipe away all tears from their eyes.' What fhall make them perfectly bleffed, or compleatly hap py, is, full enjoying of God to all Eternity: Pfal. xvi. ult. In thy prefence is fulness of joy, at thy

right hand there are pleasures for evermore.' And xvii. ult. As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousnefs: I fhall be fatisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness. Rev. xxi. 7. above cited. They will enjoy God in Heaven, by Sight of the divine Glory, to the compleat fatisfying of their Understanding; and by Experience of the divine Goodness, to the compleat fatisfying of their Will: Matth. v. 8. Bleffed are the pure in

heart for they fhall fee God.' Compared with Pfal. xvii. ult. above cited. Rev. vii. 16. 17. forecited. The Sight they will have of the divine Glory, is, a full and clear Knowledge of God, as by feeing Face to Face: Exod. xxxiii. 18. And Mofes faid, I beseech thee, fhew me thy
