A. D. 32. AT that time Herod the Tetrarch heard of the fame of Jesus,

he shall choose thee. do. liii. 3: He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief; and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. * MARK, vi. 3, 4: Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him. A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house. LUKE, iv. 24: Verily I say unto you, no prophet is accepted in his own country. JOHN, iv. 44: Jesus himself testified, that a prophet hath no honour in his own country.

MARK, vi. 5, 6: He could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them. And he marvelled because of their unbelief.

MARK, vi. 14: And king Herod heard of him, (for his name was spread abroad) and he said, That John the Baptist was risen from the dead, and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him. LUKE, ix. 7: Now Herod the tetrarch heard of all that was done by him: and he was perplexed, because that it was said of some, that John was risen from the dead.

I MARK, vi. 35: When the day was now far spent, his disciples came unto him and said, This is a desert place, and now the time is far passed. LUKE, ix. 12: And when the day began to wear away, then came the twelve and said unto him, Send the multitude away, that they may go into the towns and country round about, and lodge and get victuals.
