JEREMIAH, 31:31-37.

EHOLD, the days come, saith Jehovah, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah :

32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, altho I was a husband unto them, saith Jehovah :

33 But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put My law in their inward parts, and in their heart will I write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people:

34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know Jehovah: for they shall all know Me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith Jehovah; for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin will I remember no more.

35 Thus saith Jehovah, which giveth the Sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the Moon and of the stars for a light by night, which stirreth up the sea, that the waves thereof roar; Jehovah of hosts is his name:

36 If these ordinances depart from before Me, saith Jehovah, then the seed

of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before Me for ever.

37 Thus saith Jehovah: If Heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the Earth searched out beneath, then will I also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith Jehovah.

MICAH, 5:25.

HOU, Beth-lehem Ephrathah, which art little to be among the families of Judah, out of thee shall one come forth unto Me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting.

3 Therefore will He give them up, until the time that she which travaileth hath brought forth: then the residue of His brethren shall return unto the children of Israel.

4 And He shall stand, and shall feed His flock in the strength of Jehovah, in the majesty of the name of JEHOVAH His God: and they shall abide; for now shall He be great unto the ends of the Earth.

5 And this man shall be our peace.

25 Jehovah is good unto them that wait for Him,to the soul that seeketh Him. 26 It is good that a man should hope and quietly wait for the salvation of Jehovah.

27 It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth.

28 Let him sit alone and keep silence, because He hath laid it upon him.

29 Let him put his mouth in the dust; if so be there may be hope.

30 Let him give his cheek to him that smiteth him; let him be filled full with reproach.

31 For Jehovah will not cast off for

ever.

32 For tho He cause grief, yet will He have compassion according to the multitude of His mercies.

33 For He doth not afflict willingly, nor grieve the children of men.

34 To crush under foot all the prisoners of the Earth,

35 To turn aside the right of a man before the face of the Most High,

36 To subvert a man in his cause, Jehovah approveth not.

37 Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not?

38 Out of the mouth of the Most High cometh there not evil and good?

39 Wherefore doth a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?

40 Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to Jehovah.

41 Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens.

42 We have transgressed and have rebelled; Thou hast not pardoned.

43 Thou hast covered with anger and pursued us; Thou hast slain, Thou hast not pitied.

44 Thou hast covered Thyself with a cloud, that our prayer should not pass

thro.

45 Thou hast made us the off scouring and refuse in the midst of the peoples. 46 All our enemies have opened their mouth wide against us.

47 Fear and the pit are come upon us, devastation and destruction.

48 Mine eye runneth down with rivers of water, for the destruction of the daughter of my people.

49 Mine eye poureth down, and ceaseth not, without any intermission,

50 Till Jehovah look down, and behold from heaven.

51 Mine eye affecteth my soul, because of all the daughters of my city.

52 They have chased me sore like a bird, that are mine enemies without cause. 53 They have cut off my life in the dungeon, and have cast a stone upon me. 54 Waters flowed over mine head; I said, I am cut off.

55 I called upon Thy name, O Jehovah, out of the lowest dungeon.

56 Thou heardest my voice; hide not Thine ear at my breathing, at my cry.

57 Thou drewest near in the day that I called upon Thee: Thou saidst, Fear not.

58 O JEHOVAH, THOU HAST PLEADED THE CAUSES OF MY SOUL; THOU HAST

REDEEMED MY LIFE.

MATTHEW, 5:3--12. LESSED are the poor in spirit; For theirs is the kingdom of Heaven. 4 Blessed are they that mourn; For they shall be comforted.

5 Blessed are the meek; For they shall inherit the Earth.

6 Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness; For they shall be filled.

7 Blessed are the merciful; For they shall obtain mercy.

8 Blessed are the pure in heart; For they shall see God.

9 Blessed are the peacemakers; For they shall be called sons of God.

10 Blessed are they that have been persecuted for righteousness' sake; For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11 Blessed are ye when men shall reproach you, and persecute you, and say all manner of evil against you falsely, for My sake.

12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad; For great is your reward in heaven; for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

49 For He that is mighty hath done to me great things; And holy is His

name.

50 And His mercy is, unto generations and generations, On them that fear Him.

51 He hath shewed strength with His arm; He hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their heart.

52 He hath put down princes from their thrones, And hath exalted them of low degree.

53 The hungry He hath filled with good things; And the rich He hath sent empty away.

54 He hath holpen Israel His servant, That He might remember mercy

55 (As He spake unto our fathers) Toward Abraham and his seed for ever.

75 In holiness and righteousness before Him all our days.

76 Yea and thou, Child, shalt be called the prophet of the Most High: For Thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to make ready His ways;

77 To give knowledge of salvation unto his people In the remission of their sins. 78 Because of the tender mercy of our God, Whereby the dayspring from on high shall visit us,

79 To shine upon them that sit in darkness and the shadow of death; To guide our feet into the way of peace.

LUKE, 2:8-14.

'ND there were shepherds in the same country abiding in the field, and keeping watch by night over their flock.

9 And an angel of the Lord stood by them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

10 And the angel said unto them, Be not afraid; for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which shall be to all the people;

11 For there is born to you this day, in the city of David, a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

12 And this is the sign unto you; Ye shall find a babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, and lying in a manger.

13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

14 GLORY TO GOD IN THE HIGHEST, AND ON EARTH PEACE AMONG MEN IN WHOM HE IS WELL PLEASED.

world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not.

11 He came unto His own, and they that were His own received Him not.

12 But as many as received Him, to them gave He the right to become children of God, even to them that believe on His name:

13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us (and we beheld His glory, glory as of the Only Begotten from the Father), full of grace and truth.

15 John beareth witness of Him, and crieth, saying, This was He of whom I said, He that cometh after me is become before me for He was before me.

16 For of His fulness we all received, and grace for grace.

17 For the law was given by Moses: grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

18 No man hath seen God at any time; the Only Begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, He hath declared Him.

21 For as the Father raiseth the dead and quickeneth them, even so the Son also quickeneth whom He will.

22 For neither doth the Father judge any man: but He hath given all judgement unto the Son;

23 That all may honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He that honoreth not the Son honoreth not the Father which sent Him.

24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth My word, and believeth Him that sent Me, hath eternal life, and cometh not into judgement, but hath passed out of death into life.

25 Verily, verily, I say unto you. The hour cometh, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God; and they that hear shall live.

26 For as the Father hath life in Himself, even so gave He to the Son also to have life in Himself:

27 And he gave Him authority to execute judgement, because He is the Son of man.

28 Marvel not at this: for the hour cometh, in which all that are in the tombs shall hear His voice, and shall come forth;

29 They that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done ill, unto the resurrection of judgement.
