Forgive me, Lord, for thy dear SON,
The ills that I this day have done;
That with the world, myself, and thee,
I, ere I sleep, at peace may be.
Teach me to live, that I may dread
The grave as little as my bed;
Teach me to die, that so I may,
With joy behold the judgment day.

Praise God from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him, all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

FINIS.

INDEX.

TO THE FIRST LINES OF HYMNS.

Abraham, when severely tried
Afflicted saint, to Christ draw near
Ah! give me, Lord, the single eye
Alas! and did my Saviour bleed
All hail the power of Jesu's name
Almighty Father, bless the word
Almighty God! thy word is cast
And now my soul another year
Another six days' work is done
Awake and sing the song
Awake my soul! and with the sun
Be with me, Lord, where'er I go
Begin my soul, th' exalted lay
Behold the sin-atoning Lamb...
Bound upon the accursed tree
Bread of the world, in mercy broken

...

Christ the Lord is risen to day

Come thou fount of every blessing
Come, ye that know and fear the Lord.
Come, we that love the Lord...

Come, Holy Spirit, come

...

Come, thou long expected Jesus
Come, Holy spirit, calm my mind

Come, Holy Spirit, heav'nly Dove
Come let us join our cheerful songs
Command thy blessing from above
Come, ye sinners poor and wretched,
Come, my soul, thy suit prepare

..

Father of heaven, whose love profound..
For mercies, countless as the sands
From all that dwell below the skies
From Greenland's icy mountains
Fulfil thy promise, gracious Lord

God moves in a mysterious way
Glory to thee, my God, this night

Hosanna to the living Lord

How sweet, how heavenly is the sight
How sweet to leave the world awhile
How welcome to the saints, when press'd
How sweet the name of Jesus sounds
Hark! the herald angels sing...

High let us swell our tuneful notes
Hark the glad sound! the Saviour comes
Hark the voice of love and mercy
High lift the cross in heathen lands
Head of the Church triumphant

I am, saith Christ, your glorious head
I ask'd the Lord that I might grow

When, O my Saviour, when shall I
Where two or three with sweet accord
With all my powers of heart and tongue
With one consent let all the earth

J. Townshend, Printer, Okehampton.

O'er the gloomy hills of darkness
Of all the gifts thine hand bestows
Oft as the bell, with solemn toll
Oft in sorrow and in woe

Prayer is the soul's sincere desire

Rejoice, believer, in the Lord...
Rock of ages, cleft for me

Salvation! O the joyful sound
Saviour, when in dust to thee...
Shew pity, Lord; O Lord forgive
Sometimes a light surprises
