L. AND J. SEELEY, THAMES DITTON, SURREY.

THE Editor had thought of prefixing to these Sermons, a brief Memoir of the Author; but in addition to the delay which this would have occasioned, it appeared to many of the friends of the deceased, that in so slight a sketch as it must necessarily have been, many important particulars must have been omitted, and nothing of his correspondence could have been introduced. The idea of a Memoir has, however, by no means been abandoned, and it is the express object of this Advertisement, to request that such friends as possess letters, or other documents which they may not deem private, would favour the Editor with the loan of them. Those who kindly furnish such papers, may rely on their being kept with the utmost care, and ultimately returned.
