PRAYER FOR FAITH.

With the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans x. 10.

O LORD of Hosts, God of Israel, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth (a)! Without faith it is impossible to please thee: for he that cometh to God must

believe that he is, and that he is the rewarder of them that diligently seek him (b). Lord, increase my faith (c): that faith which has its fruits unto holiness, and the end everlasting life (d). Stablish, strengthen, settle me (e), lest there be in me an evil heart of unbelief in departing from thee, the living God (f). Help thou mine unbelief(g), that I may hold fast the profession of my faith without wavering (h), and may know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent (i); yea, and may count all things but loss, for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus, my Lord(j).

And now, O God, the God of hope, fill me with all joy and peace in believing, that I may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost (k), looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of my faith (1), and being justified freely by thy grace (m); to whom be praise and dominion, for ever and ever. Amen (n).

PRAYER FOR GRACE.

By grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. Eph. ii. 8.

of all men(a), and understandest all the imaginations of the thoughts (b); who knowest that the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth (c), deceitful above all things and desperately wicked (d): give me a new heart, and put a new spirit within me: take away the stony heart out of my flesh, and give me a heart of flesh (e). Suffer me not to be tempted above that I am able to bear; but with the temptation also make a way to escape(f). Lord, thy grace is sufficient for me (g): thou givest grace unto the lowly (h), the humble person thou wilt save(i): and no good thing wilt thou withhold from

them that walk uprightly (j). O make me to walk in thy fear, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost (k); laying

aside every weight, and the sin that doth so easily beset me (1).

Every

good gift and every perfect gift cometh down from thee, the Father of lights (m): thou art able to make all grace abound toward me(n); to strengthen me with all might, according to thy glorious power (o), and to cleanse me from all unrighteousness, through the blood of Jesus Christ thy Son (p), and the sanctification of the Spirit (q).
