His mercies are new every morning; great is his faithfulness (d). I laid me down and slept: I awaked; for the Lord sustained me(e). What shall I render to the Lord for all his benefits towards me? I will offer the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the Lord (f). From the rising of the sun to the going down of the same, the Lord's name is to be praised (g).

Withhold thou not thy tender mercies from me, O Lord; let thy loving kindness and thy truth continually preserve me (h). Preserve my going out and my coming in (i): cause me to know the way wherein I should walk(j), that I

may use this world as not abusing it (k), remembering that thou, God, seest me(), and that for all these things thou wilt bring me into judgment (m).

Bless, Lord, my substance, and accept the work of my hands (n). Keep my tongue from evil, and my lips from speaking guile (o). Incline my heart unto thy testimonies, and not to covetousness (p). Grant that I may walk worthy of thee, O Lord, unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God (g): that I may study to be quiet, and to do mine own business, and to work with mine own hands (r); not

Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, work in me that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen (t).

It is a good thing also to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High: to shew forth thy loving kindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night (e). I will not give sleep to mine eyes, or slumber to mine eyelids, until (ƒ) I have made mention of thy loving kindness, O Lord, according to all that thou hast bestowed on me (g). Thou art my lamp, O Lord; O lighten my darkness (j): except thou keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain (k). Thou art my refuge, and my fortress; my God, in thee will I trust (/). I will lie down, and none shall make me afraid (m); yea, I will lie down, and my sleep shall be sweet (n): for the darkness is no darkness with thee, but the night is as clear as the day; the darkness and the light to thee are both alike (o). The day is thine; the night also is thine; thou hast prepared
