ALL IS WELL.

Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him.--~
Is. iii. 10.

1. EXULT, O my soul, in the sound!
Jehovah thy Father declares,
Tho' dark dispensations abound,

'Tis well with the righteous, his heirs.
"Tis well when in Jesus they view
A fulness, that never shall end;
When God appears faithful and true,
Their best, their adorable Friend.

2.Tis well in the mount, or the vale,

When fiery temptations they share;
When heart-rending sorrows assail,
Or when on the verge of despair.
Jehovah's immutable love,

Secures them from falling away;
And leads them to mansions above,
To dwell in the regions of day.

3. The arm that supports them is strong,
Well able their souls to sustain ;

Jehovah, their strength and their song,
Will cause them the conquest to gain.

In ev'ry condition, they stand
Accepted in Jesus-all fair;
And he'll ev'ry blessing command,

And make his dear people his care.

Ransomed sinner! all thy blessings are given to thee in covenant-love; and both thou and thine inheritance will ever remain secure, beyond the possibility of failure. The honor, name, and perfections of Jehovah are the basis upon which thy weather-beaten soul may rest with courage. And, since all the perfections of holiness, justice, and truth, meet in Christ, who is thy Kinsman Redeemer, thou hast a right, at all times, to draw near with boldness to him; believing that all is well, though thy filthy rebellious heart troubles thee every day: Cast not away, therefore, thy confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.

THE WEARY PILGRIM's PRAYER,

Hear

my prayer, O Lord, and give ear unto my cry; hold not thy peace at my tears; for I am a stranger with thee, and a sojourner, as all my father's were.---Ps.

xxxix. 12.

1. MY Saviour, my Lord, and my God,

Grant me the bright beams of thy face:
This earth's but a dismal abode,

Without the supplies of thy grace.
Some sweet, cheering word by the way
Shall enliven my path as I go;
And keep me from going astray,
While passing this valley of woe.

2. Surrounded with sorrows and cares,
And harrass'd with black unbelief;
Entangled with numerous snares:→→
Of sinners indeed I'm the chief!
But where shall I go with my load?
How shall I the tempest outbrave?
I'll cast my complaints on my God:
His arm is almighty to save.

3. His promise preserves from despair The soul, who on Jesus believes;

And Zion delights to declare

The sweet consolation it gives.

The heart his own bitterness knows,
But often how sweet is his joy!
"Tis Jesus that heals all my woes,

And raises my songs to the sky.

Pilgrim! sorrow and sighing-strong cries and many tears, are thy frequent portion here below. Couldest thou live, as thou art often charged as living, by thine opposers, (viz. in all manner of sin without remorse!) why, then, there would be an end to the far greater part of thy troubles: would a man grieve and hate himself, with perfect hatred, in feeling and in committing that in which he saw no evil? Certainly not. Why then dost thou groan, day by day? Because thou hast a body of indwelling sin, which works strongly in carnal and corrupt desires; and, sometimes to thy sore grief, makes its appearance in the members of thy body: "If we say (we, the disciples of Jesus,) that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves.""There is not a just man upon earth that liveth and sinneth not." Nothing is more difficult, than for a believer to draw a line of distinction between the flesh and the spirit, when he is sorely tried by the absence of his Beloved, the temptations of Satan, and the horrible workings of his own deceitful heart. Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me, O God! from secret faults.

SECURITY.

The Lord hath founded Zion.---Is. xiv. 32.

1. ZION's founded on a basis

Where no foe can her molest ;*
Weak and feeble, tho' her graces,
Still she stands for ever blest.

2. True it is, she hears the thunder,
E'en the law's tremendous knell;
Yet she sings with pleasing wonder,
"Jesus saves from death and hell!"

3. 'Tis by faith I love to view him,
Who on Calv'ry bled and died;
And be daily led unto him,
Cleaving to his bleeding side.

4. May this be my occupation, While in this dark vale below, To proclaim a free salvation,

And in knowledge daily grow.

* What I mean to convey by the word molest, is, that the Church of Jesus cannot be molested so as to be deprived of their interest in Jesus, or beat off from that firm foundation, which Jesus is, to
