We Are His Poets

Xulon Press, 2007 - 228 páginas
Ralph Vile of Luray, Virginia, presents poems that he wrote from 1945 to 1961. This period encompassed his service in the U.S. Navy, college and seminary education, marriage and family, a call to the mission field, ill health, and a return to the Shenandoah Valley, where he and his wife, Joanna Griffith Vile, now live. They taught in public schools for many years and have been active laypersons at Mt. Carmel Regular Baptist Church. Ralph's poems center on the themes of home, family, God, Bible, church, and community. The author records his struggles with God's providence and his faith in His care. Even as they provide a backward glance at a time now gone by, these poems look confidently ahead to the future. They focus both on the beautiful visible world of nature and on the even more precious, once invisible, Word that was made flesh and dwelt among us.

Thanks for sharing. I read the first 6 poems of the book and was truly touched from this saint of the past. Sorry for your loss but God's gain. To his grandson that cared enough to post
it on Face Book for all to see that want to see. This family is lifted up in prayer. I laughed when I saw the #6 poem. Laughter is medicine to the bones.

This is one great book of inspirational poems written over the many years of my grandfather's life.
Sadly he recently passed due to a long and brave battle against Parkinsons disease. The words
contained in these pages are real and heartfelt emotions of a dedicated and loyal Christian man living his days in service of the Lord. I still can remember him as when I was a child, looking up to "grandpa" who wanted everyone to know the Good News about Jesus Christ(Son of God) and what it meant to those people here on Earth. In a sad world where people and governments blatant reject of God laws and His Salvation to mankind and by deception hide the Truth from the masses with false doctrine. As you may already know we live in a corrupt and degenerate world. We live in a time where the only thing that cannot be took, stolen or pillaged from you is our faith! Everyday more and more of our liberites and civil rights as a people are being destroyed. The Christo did not die in vain so that we might reject his gift..It was done so that we would have eternal life, peace & happiness! Something much more grand than America the Babylon or Hades..Sincere Blessings From Me To You!
