AND THE UNITY OF PENTECOST. BY HENRY T. EDWARDS, B.A. (Oxon.), VICAR OF CARNARVON. HAYES, LYALL PLACE, EATON SQUARE; 101.6.27. PREFACE. THE contents of the following pages originally delivered in the form of Lectures to the native congregation worshipping in the Parish Church of Carnarvon, were subsequently published in the Welsh language. A large Welsh edition has already been issued, and will be followed shortly by a second edition in a cheaper form. Ministering in a country which has been grievously torn and bruised by the evil spirit of Dissent, brought in by the popular delusion that every man is capable of forming a religious system for himself by a cursory perusal of the Welsh translation of Holy Writ, the author felt the necessity of directing the attention of his parishioners to the easily-traced chain of Scriptural evidence that gives most certain warranty to the article of our faith: "I BELIEVE IN ONE CATHOLIC AND APOSTOLIC CHURCH." |
