Having, Theophila, quoted to you many verses in which the earth, the world, the dry land, and the water are mentioned, in such a way that I am inclined to look upon them as being different from those that refer to the globe we inhabit, I shall now lay before you some of those in which Egypt, the Wilderness and Desert, Babylon, Zion, and Jerusalem, are spoken of, also in such a manner that I think they have no relation to this visible earth, and that they must be parts of an unknown world. In another place I mean to say something of Paradise, of the Flood, and of Tyre. Gen. Of Egypt. 41. 36. That the land of Egypt perish not through famine. 55.
