את התורה :

הלא היא אשר נתנה מפי הגבורה בקולות וברקים ובאותות ובמופתים אעפ"י שנתנה רק לאומה אחת : ולדבריהם שהתורה עתידה ליבטל והא"ג שלהם היא התורה החדשה נתן להם תחת תורת אקית והוא הברית החדש אשר אמרו עליו כל הנביאים וזאת הברית לעתיד היות אפילו עם חיית השדה ואיך הוא נתן להם לבדם מפי אנשים בלי שום קול וברק ובלי אותות ומופתים אך באמת לא עתידה התורה הראשונה ליבטל לעולם : והנה מצינו בדוד המלך ע"ה שהיה משבח את התורה הנתונה לישרא מפי הקב"ה באמרו תהילים קייט א" אשרי תמימי דרך ההולכים בתורת ה" וכו' : כל המזמור וכן במקומות רבות כמו ראש דברך אמת ולעולם כל משפטיוו צדקך וכו' :

this book of the law," &c. This will serve as a sufficient evidence that the law of the Jews, such as they have received, will continue for ever.

From what I have already stated you must feel convinced, dear reader, that the arrival of the true Messiah will be at the latter end of the days; and that these have not been yet you cannot now deny; likewise that the law of Moses will not be annihilated at the arrival of the true Messiah. How can the Sophist intreat then that the people of Israel shall not observe their holy law? GOD himself contradicts it; for he promises that his holy law shall never be extinct. And, as a further proof, Jesus himself acknowledges in St. Matt. v. 17, 18, and 19. "Think not that I am come to destroy the law or the prophets: I am not come to destroy but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law till all be fulfilled. Whosoever, therefore, shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven; but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven." Accordingly they are obliged, even through the evangelium, to keep the law and precepts of Moses. But not alone have they violated that law, they have also persecuted and ridiculed those who have and do keep this holy law.

כי תשמע בקול ה' אהיך לשמר מצותיו וחקתיו הכתובה בספר התורה הזה וכו' : הרי לך דבר

ברור כשמש שלא יפר התורה לעולם:

ועתה שידעת בלבבך כי ביאת המשיח היא לאחרית הימים ואחרית עדיין לא עברו לכן ידוע תדע שמשיח לא בא : ובביאת המשיח התורה האקית לא תופר ומה טעם לאותן שחמדים לבטל התורה מישרא : ולא זאת בלבד שידענו והקיבה הבטיח אותנו שלא תשכח ולא תופר התורה ממנו לעולם : אא אף זאת שאפילו אותו שאומרים עליו

משיח מודה הוא בעצמו שכך הוא באמרו בא"ג במאטיאש ה" יזי • תחשבו כי באתי להפר את התורה או את הנביאים - לא באתי להפר כי אם למלאות : יח אמנס עד כי יעברו שמים וארץ יוד אחת או קרן אחד לא יעבור מן התורה וכו' : יטי ואיש אשר יפר אחת ממצות האלה הקטנות וילמד

to break my covenant with them; for I am the LORD their God," &c.

Every reader must now feel satisfied that no proof can be derived from the word covenant, wheresoever it is applied by the prophets, that GOD will annihilate the holy law of Moses at the latter end of the days: but it is the covenant of peace and mercy. As in Isa. lv. 3." And I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David." In short you may peruse the whole Bible, and you will not find that the Old Testament shall cease at the arrival even of the true Messiah; but, on the contrary, will yet be more firmly rooted. To this effect the Prophet speaks in Ezekiel, xxxvi. 26. “ A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you and I will take away the strong heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and you shall keep my judgments and do them." The same does Moses say, Deut. XXX. 1 and 2. "And it shall come to pass when all these things are come upon thee-And shalt return unto the LORD thy God, and shalt obey his voice according to all that I command thee this day," &c. Ib. 8. "And thou shalt return and obey the voice of the LORD, and do all his commandments which I command thee this day," &c. Ib. 10. "Which are written in

אויביהם לא מאסתים ולא געלתים להפר בריתי אתם

כי אני ה' אהיהם וכו" :

וכן תראה מכל הברית אשר נאמר בנביאים לא תמצא ראייה על הפרת התורה : אא על ברית השלום וחסד ורחמים אמרו כל הנביאים כמו ישעי" נה" ב" נאמר ואכרתה לכם ברית עולם חסדי דוד הנאמנים וכו' סוף כל דבר חקור ודרוש בכל התנ"ך ולא תמצא שום סברה להפרת התורה בביאת המשיח

אך נהפוך הוא: הנה ביחזקא לו' כו' כזי ונתתי לכם לב חדש ורוח חדשה אתן בקרבכם ועשיתי את אשר בחקי תלכו ומשפטי תשמרו ועשיתם וכו' וכן בכל תנ"ך : וכן אמר משה רבינו ע"ה דברים לי אי באמרו והיה כי יבאו עליך כל הדברים האה וכו' ושבת עד ה' אהיך ושמעת בקולו ככל אשר אנכי מצוך היום וכו': שם חי ואתה תשוב ושמעת בקול ה' אהיך ועשית את כל מצותיו וכו': שם *
