And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he

They appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias. 24. And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen, 25. That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place. 26. And they gave forth their lots: and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.

Act. 6.2. The twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables. 3. Brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business. 5. The saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, &c., 6. Whom they set before the apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.

Act. 11.22. Tidings of these things came unto the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch. 29. The apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter.

Act. 15.22. Then pleased it the apostles and elders, with the whole church, to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas, namely, Judas surnamed Barsabas, and Silas, chief men among the brethren 23. And they wrote letters by them after this manner; The apostles and elders and brethren send greeting unto the brethren which are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia. 25. It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul. Act. 15.28. For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things. 36. Paul said unto Barnabas, Let us go again and visit our brethren in every city where we have preached the word of the Lord, and see how they do. 40. Paul chose Silas, and departed, being recommended by the brethren unto the grace of God. 41. He went through Syria and Cilicia, confirming the churches.

And if any man hunger, let him eat at home; that ye come not together unto condemnation. And the rest will I set in order when I come.

1 Cor. 12.5. There are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. 28. God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

1 Cor. 14.26. How is it then, brethren ? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying. 33. God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints. 40. Let all things be done decently and in order.

1 Cor. 16.3. When I come, whomsoever ye shall approve by your letters, them will I send to bring your liberality unto Jerusalem. 16. Submit yourselves unto such, and to every one that helpeth with us, and laboureth.

2 Cor. 2.6. Sufficient to such a man is this punishment, which was inflicted of many. 7. So that contrariwise, ye ought rather to forgive him, and comfort him, lest perhaps such an one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow. v. 2-11.

1 Tim. 3.1. If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. 2. A bishop then must be blameless. 5. For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God? 8. Must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre; 9. Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.

1 Tim. 3.10. And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless. 11. Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things. 12. Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well. 13. For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus. v. 1-13.

1 Tim. 4.14. Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.

1 Pet. 5.1. The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder. 2. Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready

mind; 3. Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.

3 Jno. 9. I wrote unto the church: but Diotrephes, who loveth to have the preeminence among them, receiveth us not. 10. Wherefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he doeth, prating against us with malicious words: and not content therewith, neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and forbiddeth them that would, and casteth them out of the church.
