complishment? It cannot be, my brethren. It cannot be that, as Christian men, you can fail to discern, or discharge, the Christian duty which rests upon you. Let me implore you once more to advert to the ground upon which that duty is established, the blessings to which the faithful performance of it leads. The gigantic Philistine, who comes forth to defy the armies of the living God, can only be encountered now, as in the days of old, with the weapons which God has provided. The strong man of sin can only be subdued and shackled by the strength of one stronger than him. The moral leprosy, which taints the very life-blood of our hearts, and spreads infection through the whole frame, can only be cleansed by the healing operation of those means of grace which the great Physician of the soul supplies. Be not ye, therefore, slow to receive, and spread around you, the protection which the knowledge of His saving truth extends. Build ye up the waste places of the Lord, and gather within them the brethren for whom Christ died. Pray that the glorious Majesty of the Lord your God be upon you, that He may prosper the work of your hands, and make it the instrument and means of grace to yourselves and to your children for ever. To His glory be it dedicated; to your salvation may it minister. "Not grudgingly, then, nor of necessity "," but

with a cheerful heart, render unto us your help. I ask it, in the name of Christ, for those who need the knowledge of His word; and for the sake of Christ, and in His Spirit, I believe and trust that you will now, with heart and hand, respond to my appeal.
