Thy mercy is for ever sure:
121. "BEHOLD the Lamb! Behold the Lamb:"
Descending from his throne above,
Whose pitying love is great;
is so slow to rise, So ready to abate.
God will not always chide;
And when his rod is felt,
And light compared with guilt.
Above this ground we tread;
Our highest thoughts exceed.
And his forgiving love,
Does all our guilt remove.

Are matchless, God-like, and divine ! But the fair glories of thy grace,
O'er all thy name unrivalled shine. Who is a pardoning God like thee ? Or who has grace so rich and free? Angels and men resign their claim
To righteous mercy, truth in peace; These glories crown Jehovah's name,
With an incomparable grace. Who is a pardoning God like thee ? Or who has grace so rich and free ? In wonder lost, with trembling joy,

Past sins are all forgiven ;
That lifts our hopes to heaven.
We heave the pensive sigh ;
Yet trusting in the Lord, we find
Delivering favor nigh.
We feel his chastening rod;
To our forgiving God.
To call our souls away,
To Christ and heavenly day.
The Father has bestowed
To call us sons of God.
But higher we shall rise ;
Is hid from mortal eyes.
We shall be like our Lord;
In power, enthroned, adored, Blessed with this high and heavenly hope,
We trials would endure;
Ourselves, as Christ is pure.
7's. GLORY be to God on high!
Heaven and earth resound with joy,
Joy, at news of pardoned sin ;
Father, Abba, Father !' cry.
And Christ invites us near ; We prove the fellowship most sweet,
And the communion dear.
He pardons every day;
And wise to guide our way.
We bless his faithful care,
And our Forerunner there.
