GOSPEL. Luke xv. 1. 10.

AT that time: The Publicans and sinners drew near to Jesus to hear him. And the Pharisees and Scribes murmured, saying: This man received sinners, and eaeth with them. And he spoke this parable to them, string: Which of you having an hundred sheep, if he loe one of them, leaveth not the ninety-nine in the deset and goeth after that which is lost, till he find it? Atd having found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing: and coming home, he calleth together his friends ad neighbours, saying to them: Rejoice with me, for I K.fe found my sheep, that was lost. I say to you: So shll there be more joy in heaven for one sinner doing penance than for ninety-nine righteous persons, that stand no in need of pennance. Or what woman having ten groats, if she lose one, lighteth not a candle, and sweepetl the house, and seeketh diligently, till she find it? Arl having found it, she calleth together her friends and ne'rhbours, saying, Rejoice with me, for I have found thegroat I had lost. So I say to you: There shall be joy bake the Angels of God for one sinner that doth pennace. Credo.

EPISTLE. Rom. viii. 18. 23.

BRETHREN: I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory to come, that shall be revealed in us. For the expectation of the creature waiteth for the revelations of the sons of God. For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him that made it subject, in hope because the creature also itself shall be delivered from the slavery of corruption into the liberty of the glory of the children of God. For we know that every creature groaneth, and is in labour even till now. And not only they, but we ourselves also, who have the first fruits of the spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption of the sons of God, the redemption of our body, in Christ Jesus our Lord.

GOSPEL. Luke v. 1.11.

AT that time: When the people pressed on Jesus to hear the word of God, he was standing by the lake of Genesareth. And he saw two ships standing still by the lake; but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets. And going into one of the ships, which was Simon's, he asked him to put forth a little from the shore. And he sat down, and taught the people from the ship. And having done speaking, he said to Simon: Launch forth into the deep, and let go your nets for a draught, And Simon answering, said to him : Master, we have been labouring all night, and have taken nothing; nevertheless, at thy command, I will let go the net. And having done it; they inclosed a great number of fish, and their net broke. And they beckoned to their partners, that were in the other ship, to come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they were ready to sink. Which when Simon Peter saw, he fell down at the knees of Jesus, saying: Depart from me, O Lord, for I am a sinful man. for he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of fishes they had taken. And so were also James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon: Fear not, henceforth thou shalt catch men. And having brought their ships to land, they left all and followed him. Cheoo.

FPISTLE. 1 Pet. iii. 8. 15.

DEARLY beloved: Be all of one mind in prayer, compassionate, lovers of the brethren, merciful, modest, and humble. Not returning evil for evil, nor curse for curse, but on the contrary, blessings: for to this were you called, that you may inherit a blessing. For he that would love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile. Let him avoid evil, and do good: speak peace, and follow it. For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil. And
