THE present treatise on Plane and Spherical Trigonometry is designed as a text-book for Colleges, Scientific Schools, and Institutes of Technology. The aim has been to present the subject in as concise a form as is consistent with clearness, to make it attractive and easily intelligible to the student, and at the same time to present the fullest course of Trigonometry which is usually given in the best Technological Schools. Considerable care has been taken to instruct the student in the theory and use of Logarithms, and their practical application to the solution of triangles. It is hoped that the work may commend itself, not only to those who wish to confine themselves to the numerical calculations which occur in Trigonometry, but also to those who intend to pursue the study of the higher mathematics.
